We don’t remember seeing these birds until last week. A fellow photographer told me they are anahinga. Today there were four or five of them all lines up and perched on some pilings. This one was drying its wings.

We have them around us – quite a number of them. Thought they were cormorants, actually. They seem to be in competition with the osprey for food. I love watching them dive, they seem to dive pretty deep too.
