Even though I grew up in upstate New York and have been to New York City, I had never seen the Statue of Liberty. We were in New York City on a day trip and did not have time to take a boat tour to the statue but at least we got to see if from shore

There is a tradition in parts of Maryland that on the first day of spring you burn your winter socks since no self respecting boater would wear them in the summertime. This tradition started in Eastport – near Annapolis in the 1970’s. Since we had snow on Friday, our local community celebrated on Saturday afternoon at our community center.

While I was at work today, Michael went to Kinder Park and took a bunch of photos. They all turned out great and it was hard to decide which ones to post.
We have never been to Kinder Park in the winter – it’s beautiful. Wish I had gone with him. Oh well – next time
