January 30, 2016

It was a week ago we were digging from the big blizzard,  Today the sun was shining, it was 40 degrees and the snow is melting.

We decided to go to the Annapolis Mall to see how far I could walk in my new winter boot with crutches.  I managed to walk all around the mall – but at a much slower pace than usual but at least I got some exercise

We decided to stop at the Naval Academy on the way home to see if we could find some pictures

Even the seagulls are discussing who is going to win the Super Bowl – the Seahawks or Broncos?

We are having a heat wave today.  It was 57 degrees out – hard to believe we might have a couple of inches of snow by morning.  Our library is now open on Sunday afternoons which is just awesome.  So after a trip to the library, I stopped at the marina.  Some people were just leaving the marina and mentioned that they had been feeding the seagulls.  I was happy to see that there were some still hanging around.  Did not realize that I managed to catch one in flight.  You can still see a bit of ice in the background.

Another beautiful day although it was a little chilly this morning.  We walked to town and stopped at the farmers market.  They were had a pie tasting contest and we got to taste some of the winning apple pie.  Then we walked around town.  Then we headed out to Cape Charles – walked out on their pier and took a bunch of photos – liked this one the best.  We walked around town – saw a sea glass ornament and we almost bought it until we checked the price – $45.  Then we headed to a wildlife refuge right by the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel – walked around.  There is an old bunker there left from the war.  Took some more pictures and then headed back to the Inn.  Relaxing in there great living room with a good book and waiting for Wine Down Time – for some wine and goodies.
