When we were on the float trip on Snake River the other day, we saw a road that went along part of the river so we checked the map and we found a 15 mile dirt road on the map. We stopped at ranger station and asked about the road and decided to give it a try. It’s a good thing we had a 4 wheel drive. Road was bumpy and had some good size pot holes. We managed to find the spot where the float trip started and got some great views of the river. It was hard to decide which picture we liked the best

After spending time at Mormon Row, we headed to the Snake River Overlook.  During our float trip last night, the guide pointed out the overlook and said that’s where Ansel Adams’s famous shot of the Tetons was taken and has imitated with less success by generations of photographers.  There is a marker designating the spot where he took the photo and a picture of him standing on the roof of his car taking photos.
