Took this picture of the Baltimore skyline from Middle Branch Park. Our office has decided to volunteer at this park and today we had our kickoff meeting. It was a very hot afternoon (99 degrees) but a lot of people from the office turned out in spite of the heat. There are a lot of opportunities where we can help.

Stopped at the harbor before work this morning Took the picture of the ship with the flags. Love the colors. Tried to take some more pictures but the camera started acting up again saying disc was full – impossible we deleted them last night. So off to CVS to get a new disc. Put the new disc in and ready to go – end of problem. The other two pictures were taken from our office window. The Pride of Baltimore is ship in front of Domino Sugar and in the group of three ships. Heard that the ships will be back in 2014 – sure hope so.

Stopped at the Inner Harbor before work this morning. It was really cloudy out and I had only taken a few picture when camera flashes a message – disc is full – oh no say its not so! I thought I had erased all of the pictures when I loaded the disc into the computer but guess something happened and they were not erased. So I only had a few pictures to choose from. This is from the Indonesian tall snap. Love the colors and the designs. The tall ships leave tomorrow so hope the weather cooperates and I can get some more shots.

What a beautiful spring day. We decided to go to southern Maryland. Stopped at Solomon’s Island and then we went to Annmarie Sculpture Gardens. There was a classic car show in the parking lot and I spotted this car and discovered it was a 1958 Dodge – reminded me of the 1958 De Soto my father had so I had to take a picture. The Gardens have a delightful Fairies in the Garden exhibit and there are fairy houses throughout the grounds. We liked the Bed and Breakfast one. Next stop – Battle Creek Cypress Swamp – the Bald Cypress Trees are amazing. A lot of the trees were cut down in the 1940’s and the stumps remain today. The fairy houses would have fit right in. Then as we were leaving we spotted the butterfly on a bush. Next stop – Running Hare Winery. What a great day!

The Gloria from Columbia
Sailabration Day Three. This photo is reflection of the aquarium bridge on the water. Since the main colors are red, white and blue, I thought it was perfect for the Star Spangled theme

Sailabration continues. Stopped at the Inner Harbor this morning before I went to work. Could not believe all of the people that were already there. Al Roker was doing a broadcast for the Today Show. I could not decide what to take a picture of first. These tall ships are the Cisne Branco from Brazil and the Cuauhtemoc from Mexico. The shot of the fireboat was taken in the afternoon from an office window.

Today is the first day of the Star Spangled Sailabration and the Tall Ships have started arriving in Baltimore. Took this shot from the office window. Notice the crew standing on the rigging. Star-Spangled Sailabration is an international parade of more than 40 tall ships and naval vessels. The ships are sailing into Baltimore for the national launch of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the writing of the Star-Spangled Banner. Hope I can get some more great shots tomorrow
