Rainy day today. Was trying to decide what to use for photo of the day when I noticed all the blossoms on the road, the grass – just everywhere. So I headed to my neighbor’s yard and took a bunch of photos. Like the contrast of the pink with the tree trunk

Spring this year has turned out to be amazing. We have two apple trees in our side yard and this year the trees are full of blossoms and the best part is you can see the trees from our family room.

Since we were out having fun on Friday and Saturday, had to run errands and do some chores around the house today. So, I headed to the backyard to see if I could find anything to catch my eye. Was surprised to see that the two tulips were still in bloom and that the white azalea bush behind it was in full bloom. Thought the bush might be a good background against the pink tulips. Really like how the picture turned out – seems to have a soft dreamy feel to it.

Field of purple. The purple flowers were everywhere. It was just beautiful.

Could not believe all the ponds in the refuge area. There were lots of lily pads but no lilies. I liked all the colors and the reflections in the water. We will have to go back another time.

Michael spotted this one Jack in the Pulpit flower among all the purple flowers. It was hard to get a good angle. He took a lot of pictures and finally laid on the ground to get this shot.

Another beautiful spring day so we decided to head to the Patuxent Research Refuge. We have only been there once and that was a year ago and we did not check out all the areas. Could not believe all these purple flowers along the river.

As we were leaving the arboretum we could hear the frogs. So we stopped on the pedestrian bridge to see if we could find them in the water. We were surprised how many there were and how loud they were. We stood there for quite a while taking photos and then we were lucky enough to find these two – they look like they are kissing.
