Lin and Michael’s Photos
Back to work today after a long relaxing weekend. When I got to work, I discovered that my big client wanted changes made to the big project I worked on a couple of weeks ago and they wanted it today. So had to hit the ground running – worked thru lunch and stayed late – so no time for photo ops. When I got home I noticed the neighbor had decorated his donkey for opening day. Since it was late and I am really tired, decided to use this for my photo of the day even though I am a NY Yankee fan – i grew up in New York and once a Yankee fan – always a Yankee fan.

After we got home, unpacked, and started a load of wash headed out to the yard to see if anything had bloomed while we were away. Was really surprised to find this flower.

Oh no it’s Monday and time to head home. Took a few pictures before we left. This is the main gathering space at the Inn and where we spend a lot of our time relaxing. We had a great time – it was so great to relax, sleep late, and have someone take care of us and have the time to take a lot of pictures. It was 39 degrees when we left the lake and 66 degrees when we got home. What a difference a few miles make. We are already counting the days until we can go back.

A rainy dreary day. Would rather have had snow – but too warm for that – although snow is in forecast for tomorrow and Tuesday. Maybe it will get cold enough to snow tonight. Our last day at the lake so we are relaxing in front of the fireplace with wine, chocolates and books.

Oakland Train Station
After Blackwater Falls. we headed back to Garrett Co and stopped at the Garrett Co. Transportation Museum. This carriage caught my eye. People would take the B&O Railroad to Oakland and then take a carriage for the six mile trip to the Deer Park Hotel.

Blackwater Falls. We went to one of the overlooks but they had the stairs blocked off so you could not go to the overlook so we drove to the other side of the falls and took this picture

After breakfast we headed out to Thomas, West Virginia. There was an article in the Washington Post recently that a lot of new shops had opened in Thomas and since we had not been there in a long time decided to take a drive. Yes, a lot of new shops have opened but for some strange reason most of them were closed. Then we headed to Blackwater Falls State Park – can’t remember the last time we were there. Stopped at the Falls and several overlooks. When we were walking back from one of the overlooks we noticed two deer. They are used to people and seemed to be posing for us. Liked this one the best and so did a lot of other people. It made the popular page on my 365Project.
