Just after we took this picture, we were trying to decide whether to continue on or turn back since it was getting late.  Just then we met a man walking back down the trail,  he told us he had just had an encounter with a bear and her cub. Said he raised his hands high and slowly backed away and once he got around a bend, hurried away, Decision made – we headed back to the trailhead.

Another great day in Montana,  We went to the Museum of the Rockies.  What a great place.  If you are ever in Bozeman – be sure and go,  After we toured the museum we headed out to a local trail – Sourdough Canyon.  Spotted these within just a few minutes of walking.
