Last full day in Stowe. We drove thru the Notch again and then went looking for covered bridges. First bridge was on a farm and we could not get close enough. On the way to the second bridge I spotted a barn in the distance and had Michael stop. Got a great shot. Think it’s the best so far.

Second coveted bridge was right alongside the Lamoille Rail Trail in Cambridge Junction. The trail is 94 miles long and connects 18 towns from Swanton to St Johnsbury. Then onto the Red Covered Bridge. Rode around on a lot of dirt roads on our way to the Fisher Covered Bridge. Then took the long way back to Stowe

It was a little damp and rainy but we ventured out. First stop covered bridge by the path

Views from both sides of the bridge

Love the reflections

Then onto Emily’s Bridge which is supposed to be haunted. There was a lot of people there taking pictures and had to wait to get a clear shot

Then we went in search of a red barn didn’t find it but I did get some other great shots

Then we headed back to Stowe and was surprised to see we could get a shot of the church. I had seen pictures of this scene on Facebook but didn’t know where photo was taken

Another view of the church. We have been to Stowe lots of time over the years but never went on path behind the church. It’s where the 5 mile path starts.

Then back to the Inn

Beautiful day today. Started out looking for covered bridges. Then went to Bennington Monument. We have seen it from a distance but never close up. Then to Robert Frost’s home where he lived in the 1920’s where he wrote Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening. Last stop the Old First Church. Which was completed in 1805. They are in the midst of a major renovation project so there is a lot of scaffolding. Will have to stop once project is finished and hopefully we will be able to see the inside. Robert Frost’s grave is behind the church
