Rainy morning but it cleared up and turned into a pretty day. We headed to the Vermont Country Store and then Hogback mountain. The GPS took us thru the countryside. We got a little worried when the pavement ended. But we made it. You can see Massachusetts, New Hampshire and parts of Vermont from the overlook. The country store was like mini Vermont Country Store. Headed back to Manchester on a more direct route and stopped at the Ye ole Tavern for dinner

Quiet relaxing day after the long drive yesterday. Lots of people in downtown Manchester It was great to see lots of people of all ages at the bookstore. It’s my all time favorite bookstore. I picked up two books. I could have gotten lots more.

This is just outside the bookstore

Another chilly evening so enjoying another fire in fireplace.

Left Vermont in rain and fog but cleared up in Albany Stopped at a rest stop on Jersey Turnpike and discovered a talking vending machine. As you walk by it says where are you going. Do t you want some cake. I didn’t see any prices

Took a little over 7 hours to get home. Could not believe all the traffic on the Garden State and Jersey Turnpike. Traffic has really increased over the years

While we were gone the landscaped mowed around the ponds. Sure looks different

The day started put grey and rainy

Decided to head to Weston to Vermont Country Store. Once we got over the mountain it started to rain but rain let up so we didn’t get wet walking to the store. We just bought some chocolate goodies

Then we stopped at Hapgood Pond. They must have drained part of the pond to build an observation deck

Since most of the local restaurants are closed we decided to head to Pawlet to a great country store for some sandwiches for dinner. There was a butcher block and candy display cabinets that reminded me of our family store

Then headed back to the Inn where it hadn’t rained

Another beautiful day in Vermont. We went to Emerald Lake State Park. Most of the parks in Vermont close after the second weekend in October so you have to park outside the gate and walk in

Then this afternoon we went to a play at the Dorset Playhouse to see The Minutes. What a talented group of people

Then we went to check out the new fire engine. I couldn’t get a good shot Love the Teddy bear
