Another beautiful day in Vermont Whenever we are in Dorset, the Northshire Book store is on our list of places to go. It’s my favorite bookstore and I can spend hours in there. This statue is right outside and notice all the places to sit and read and enjoy being in Vermont

A Sunbeam Pullman Car at Hildene. Robert Todd Lincoln was President of the Pullman Company. This car took four years to restore and is now on the grounds of Hildene in Manchester, Vermont

Hildene – the home of Robert Todd Lincoln – the only surviving child of Abraham Lincoln. We have been to Vermont numerous times but never stopped to tour Hiildene.

After we finished hiking we headed to Manchester. First stop of course was the Northshire Bookstore – my favorite bookstore. You could spend hours in there. I picked up a couple of books – could have gotten a lot more but had to control myself. If you love books and are ever in Manchester – this is a must. Then we headed to Michael’s favorite store Orvis. We decided to walk from one Orvis store to another and was glad we did. This is a pond between the two Orvis stores. Love the reflections.
If you look in the foreground you will notice a couple of circles that look like hula hoops. Orvis has fly fishing classes and they use these hoops for teaching casting.

We made a snap decision Wednesday night. We heard there was a big storm going to hit the Northeast and since we have been wanting to go to Vermont in the winter time when there is snow we decided to leave on Thursday before the storm hit. We called our favorite innkeepers in Dorset Vermont (Squire Inn) to see if they had a room and then started packing. I had to go to work Thursday morning to finish a few things and request time off. Some of my co-workers thought we were crazy. I said we were just adventurous. We made good time – it took about 7 hours and we got to Vermont around 7 pm. This morning we went out to our favorite bookstore and found a bunch of used books by mystery writers that I have been wanting to try and then off to Orvis. Took this picture next to the Orvis store. Then we rode around and took some more pictures. Hard to decide which ones to post. It is around 3 in the afternoon and we are still waiting for the big blizzard.
