Stopped at the Hudson River Maritime Museum. We both enjoyed it. Was disappointed to discover that we could not see the Kingston lighthouse from shore. You have to go on a boat tour but we didn’t have the time. So copied picture from the website
Then we headed to the Saugerties Lighthouse. It’s now a bed and breakfast so you can’t go inside. It’s about a half mile walk to the lighthouse

Found a new trail along the river by Lock #5. This bridge is just for bikers and walkers and goes across the Hudson River.

Even though I grew up in upstate New York and have been to New York City, I had never seen the Statue of Liberty. We were in New York City on a day trip and did not have time to take a boat tour to the statue but at least we got to see if from shore

We made good time so we decided to stop in Catskill and drive down to the point and see if we could get some good pictures. We have not been there in years. It has been turned into a really nice park. There is a playground, food stand, boat launch area and benches. I forgot to pack the big lens so had to make due with the lens on the camera. I was surprised that this turned out so nice. The leaves are just starting to change and there was very little red color and what color there is seems to be dull.
This is the Hudson – Athens Lighthouse. I have driven by it so many times and several years ago my brother in law and I actually got to see the inside. Volunteers take you out to the lighthouse on Saturdays during the summer.
