Went for an early morning walk before it gets too warm. Met a neighbor at the boat launching site. She was kind enough to tell me this was a mimosa tree. I thought mimosa was a drink – who knew it was also a tree. I wonder if a mimosa drink is the same color as this. Will have to google that.

Summer is here – it was in the 90’s today and its going to stay that way for rest of the week. Went for a walk after dinner – There is a big row of these lilies by the marina. I have been trying to get a good shot. This is the best one so far – stay tuned there may be more later this week

I have been trying to get a picture of a blue heron in our neighborhood for a long time. Went for a walk this morning since I figured it might be too hot and humid tonight. As I rounded the curve to the boat launching site, I was shocked to see the heron just posing there on the dock. I turned the camera on, checked my setting and slowly walked closer. Took a bunch of pictures and then slowly walked a little closer took some pictures and then slowly walked a little closer. As an added bonus, a duck swamp by. After I snapped a bunch of pictures, I changed the settings on the camera to action as I figured he was going to take off pretty soon and sure enough – he did – I got a couple of shots before he disappeared. This one turned out the best

This boat is called the Green Turtle and it’s been high and dry on land at the marina for as long as I can remember. Wonder how the story is – how did it end up here and why is it just sitting here.

After the storm – or should I say deluge. It started raining last night and raining till around noon today – some estimates say up to 4 inches. Lots of flooding and even a tree down across Route 2. However, it’s a beautiful evening.
