We went on a 4 1/2 hr cruise this afternoon. It was 73 degrees and it was a beautiful day to be on the water. Temperatures at home were 104 degrees so we were really happy we are in Maine

The road to the top of Mt. Washington is 8 miles and is narrow and winding
- This building at the top of Mt. Washington is chained to the ground because of the strong winds
- Would you believe he ran all the way to the top. He said it took 2 hours.

Warm today so decided on just a short hike. We went to Diana’s Baths. The last time we were there it was raining so we did not get to stay long. This time there were lots of people there trying to cool off so it was hard to get a good shot. We liked this one the best.

Is this where they keep the good stuff? Drove to St Albans today and while walking around a craft store I noticed the open vault door and peeked inside and saw all the wine. It was hard to get a good picture as there was not much room to move about.

There are hummingbird feeders on all of the windows in the dinning room at the Notchland. I had to sit quietly on the grass and wait until I could get some good shots.

Decided to go to on a hike on the Nancy Pond Trail. Trailhead was just down the road from the Notchland Inn. Took this shot during one of our rest stops. You could see lots of downed trees and the trail was partially washed out in several places as a result of Tropical Storm Irene that passed thru here last Labor Day.
If you ever need a place to stay in Mt. Washington area the Notchland Inn is the best place to stay. This is our third visit here. It’s located in the smallest town in New Hampshire – Hart’s Location.
