I grew up in upstate New York and have been a Yankee fan ever since.  My husband and son are also avid Yankee Fans.  We got tickets tonight for the Yankee/Oriole game for my son’s birthday.  Did not know until a few days ago that they were going to unveil a Cal Ripken statue.  We did not get there in time for the unveiling of the big statue.  They gave out small replicas to everyone at the game and had a ceremony before the game and unveiled a small replica.  Brooks Robinson, Eddy Murray, Jim Palmer and Earl Weaver are all in the picture.  It was 17 years ago tonight that Cal set the record for playing in the most consecutive games.  It was great night to be at the game even though the Yankees did not win.

You can sure tell that school is back in session.  Traffic was heavy last night but tonight it was worse.  I had to stop at library and had to wait for a nice driver to let me back into traffic – all the side roads were all backed up.  So it was later than usual when I got home and since it’s still humid – decided to stay in.  Right not i hear thunder and see lighting – rain would be good since lawn service seeded yesterday.

We had planned to go to the Renaissance Fair but Mother Nature had other plans.  It was really humid today – my glasses kept fogging up every time I went outside.  It also rained on and off most of the morning and early afternoon.  I went outside to see if I could get some photos of flowers in the yard with raindrops – but rain had all dried up.  Walked over to the garden and this butterfly was fluttering all around.  It kept flapping its wings like a hummingbird and it was hard to get a good shot.  Liked the one with his wings fluttering – and also liked the one where it finally settled for a second.

It rained last night.  The temperatures were cooler today – only 82 degrees but it was still very humid.  Decided to go to Terrapin Park which is across the Bay Bridge and right alongside the Chesapeake Bay.  The white flowers or bushes were everywhere and they had a great smell.  Managed to get a few pictures – but there were lots of people there and it was overcast
