Decided to take a few days off and go to Deep Creek Lake.  This is the porch of the Lakepointe Inn – our favorite bed and breakfast. The porch overlooks the lake.   A little damp and chilly this afternoon but its supposed to be in the high 70’s tomorrow so will definitely chill out on the porch with a good book

Trying to learn how to use the camera with manual settings.  Went for a short walk after supper and spotted these flowers in a neighbor’s yard.  Their yard is beautifully landscaped and most of the flowers in bloom now are shades of purple.

If you think I’m pretty now – wait until I open up.  I have always loved roses but was afraid to plant them in the garden.  A few years ago I heard about Knock Out Roses and decided to plant one and see.  I am amazed at how much the bush has grown – have lots of roses this year.  I have been trying to take close up shots in the manual mode so after quite a few tries, I decided this was the best

When I got home tonight, I went out in the front yard to take more pictures of the white flowers.  I have something in mind but haven’t been able to capture it yet.  This is best of today’s try.    Part of the problem may be that its windy again today.

My Mom was a great gardener.  Wish I had inherited her green thumb but I think that went to two of my sisters.  Oh well.  These little white flowers are in my side garden and are one of my success stories.

Hi my name is Froggy and welcome to my garden.  Several years ago when we were in Stowe, Vermont we found this neat little place called Inky Dinky Oink.  There is a 145 year old farmhouse that is a bed and breakfast and the owner also has an art & crafts building in the backyard.  I fell in love with this frog and it now sits in the garden in the front of the house so I get to see it every time I walk in the front door.  They specializes in fine art, painted furniture and fabrics, whimsical stone animals for home and garden, puppets with attitude and lots more great items.  We really enjoyed talking to the owner and discovered that she had lived in New York State for a number of years and since we are originally from New York State we had some common ground.  When we went back to Stowe a few years later we made sure to stop by again.  This time I bought a turtle and you can see part of it in the upper right hand corner.  They also offer first aid services so if we make it back to Stowe, will take the frog – his one eye needs to be touched up and the turtle has faded a bit.  If you ever make it to Stowe, stop by and you will be in for a real treat
