Went on a hike today with the Patuxent River Keeper at the Patuxent River Park. It was raining when we left home but we went anyway and hoped for the best. By the time we got there the rain had stopped. There were about two dozen people. Besides the River Keeper there were two people from the Scenic River Land Trust. It rained on an off but we were under tree cover for most of the hike. After the hike we went to the River Keeper’s headquarters which is about 5 miles away It sits right on the river and was one of four Patuxent River locations approved by the legislature in 1747 to act as a port and tobacco inspection station
The house that is now the River Keeper’s office was once the old country store for tobacco traders and others who used the port.
Had some lunch and walked around and took lots of pictures. Liked these the best

Busy day today with errands and yard work so not much time for photos. This is the first calla lily in the yard to bloom. Love the color. Looks great enlarged

Now that the weather is nicer Michael had been walking at Kinder Park some mornings instead of the treadmill. Scenery is much nicer at the park. He managed to capture two bees on this flower – love the shadows.

Our neighbor had to have a dead tree taken down today It was at least 70 feet tall and was between our houses. They used the same tree service that we did last month. This time I got to watch part of the process. I sure would not want that job.

Loved all the shadows in this one. There was actually a man walking his dog in the distance. I walked around taking some pictures hoping he would moved. He didn’t so I went ahead and took the photo because I loved all the shadows. I walked all the way around the path and when I got back to this spot – the man and his dog was gone and so were all the shadows. Luckily my husband managed to edit the picture so they are gone.
