I grew up in upstate New York and have been a Yankee fan ever since. My husband and son are also avid Yankee Fans. We got tickets tonight for the Yankee/Oriole game for my son’s birthday. Did not know until a few days ago that they were going to unveil a Cal Ripken statue. We did not get there in time for the unveiling of the big statue. They gave out small replicas to everyone at the game and had a ceremony before the game and unveiled a small replica. Brooks Robinson, Eddy Murray, Jim Palmer and Earl Weaver are all in the picture. It was 17 years ago tonight that Cal set the record for playing in the most consecutive games. It was great night to be at the game even though the Yankees did not win.

Stopped in South Baltimore again this morning. I tried to get some up close shots of the log that i took yesterday. It was tough to get close since it was so rocky and I did not want to fall in the water. This one turned out the best – it’s not as clear as I would have liked.

Took this picture of the Baltimore skyline from Middle Branch Park. Our office has decided to volunteer at this park and today we had our kickoff meeting. It was a very hot afternoon (99 degrees) but a lot of people from the office turned out in spite of the heat. There are a lot of opportunities where we can help.
