The lake is partially frozen, Was surprised to see all the ducks in a group – must be having a big meeting. We only saw a few patches of snow in Garrett County. Snow is in the forecast for the next few days so i have my fingers crossed

Brrr its cold. Decided to take the day off. Ran some errands this morning and then we are going to go and get a Christmas tree this afternoon. So….. I was sitting in family room reading and looked out at the hummingbird feeder and noticed the ice and thought …. wonder if this might have possibilities. Took a bunch of pictures and this one turned out the best. I never knew there was a picture of a hummingbird on the feeder but with the ice it now stands out
Now I better go get the feeder and bring it inside for the winter.

Brrr. 27 degrees this morning and it’s going to be cold for rest of the week with another snow storm in forecast for Sat. Can’t remember the last time it was this cold for any length of time. Headed to the marina after work to see if I could find anything interesting. Like how this puddle turned out

Had a great day. When we were here over New Year’s the canoe was frozen in the middle of McHenry Cove. After we left, there was a warming spell and the canoe floated to shore on the opposite side of the cove. The cove and the lake is still mostly frozen.

There is still snow on the ground and most of the lake is still frozen. This was taken from the porch of the Lakepointe Inn. It’s great to be back at the inn – I am sitting in front of the fireplace, with some wine, chocolates, and a good book and my husband. Life is good!
