We had to have a number of trees taken down in our back yard. The tree service arrived at 8:30 and were here until 5:30 or so. Very professional. This guy has a machine that lifts the logs and then he takes them to the front of the house where they are loaded on the truck to be carted away. These two logs were so heavy it lifted his end of the machine off the ground. He had to get another worker to come stand on back of the machine with him.

Didn’t have any great photo ops on Monday so on the way home Tuesday night I noticed the clouds were amazing so took a detour and stopped at Kinder Park. Took a bunch of pictures and decided to use one for Monday and one for Tuesday. Liked the clouds between the trees and the vines just seemed to be going every which way. Thought it was something different than the usual tree silhouettes

These trees are by the side entrance of the bed and breakfast. I noticed the one on the right was leaning a little yesterday but when I went out this morning it’s really leaning – looks like it’s kissing the other tree

Snowed on and off all day yesterday and it’s still snowing today. We went over to Swallow Falls State Park yesterday. Took this picture at the top of the falls. The damage from Hurricane Sandy that dumped 3 ft of snow on Garrett Co in October is very evident. Part of the trail by the falls is closed and there are lots of downed trees.

Once we got close to Deep Creek we noticed snow and ice on the trees and then when we got off the Interstate it was like we entered a magical world. The sights just took our breath away. It snowed yesterday and since it stayed cold – it was 27 degrees when we took these pictures the snow and ice stayed on the trees. We stopped several times and took pictures and it was hard to decide which once was the best – that’s an awesome feeling.

The tree is up and decorated and it’s beautiful. It’s about 7 feet tall and big and bushy – just the way I like it. This is a close up view of one section of the tree – picked this section because of the Peace ornament. The ornaments all have special meaning – some we picked up on vacation, some from when we lived overseas. some were gifts. There is even one ornament that came from Michael’s grandfather

Was busy today and it was 5 o’clock before I thought of a picture of the day – so walked outside on my deck and took a picture of the evening sky.
Decided to stop at Federal Hill on my way to work this morning. Took a bunch of pictures and liked this one the best because there were still some red leaves on the trees, the tree trunk looked interesting and you can see the office building I work in in the background.

A cold front blew in during the night Most of the leaves are now on the lawn and brrrr it’s much colder. It was overcast most of the day but did spot this little bit of blue in the afternoon.

Had to have three trees in the backyard taken down. Two of them were uprooted and leaning and the other one was just leaning. There are some oaks in the yard that also need to be taken down – but will have to get a permit for those.
