We weren’t sure what all these sticks were so we went on line and found a picture with a note that these are erosion sticks. 8,000 acres or 12 sq miles of marsh land have been lost since the park was established. The sticks are just one of several different methods to help restore some of the wetlands

We decided to take another trail back to the truck. There was a new bench overlooking the wetlands so we decided to sit and we spotted this white heron. We were lucky enough to get this shot.
