We stopped at the Pawlet General Store and the Lamp Lady Shop was a few doors down. Really like her sign and her garden in the front of the store

Another great day in the mountains. Went outside after another great breakfast – one more day and then it’s back to cereal. Took a lot of pictures and it was hard to decide. Liked the colors in this one. All of the docks have to be out of the water by December 1st. These docks are across the lake from the bed and breakfast we are staying
It doesn’t seem possible that I started this blog a year ago – had a lot of fun doing it – learned a lot and went to a lot of different places that we probably would not have gone to. I find myself looking at the world around me in a whole new way.

Snowed on and off all day yesterday and it’s still snowing today. We went over to Swallow Falls State Park yesterday. Took this picture at the top of the falls. The damage from Hurricane Sandy that dumped 3 ft of snow on Garrett Co in October is very evident. Part of the trail by the falls is closed and there are lots of downed trees.

While we were eating breakfast, Michael noticed this canoe frozen in the ice in the Cove. After finishing breakfast, headed upstairs for the camera. Walked thru the snow and took a bunch of pictures. Came inside and uploaded the pictures. Then Michael decided to walk out on the porch and take some more pictures. His picture of the canoe turned out better than mine. The one of the porch is mine Like the colors of the stone column. It’s snowing and we are supposed to get a few more inches tonight. I got my wish – lots of snow and lots of photo ops.

Once we got close to Deep Creek we noticed snow and ice on the trees and then when we got off the Interstate it was like we entered a magical world. The sights just took our breath away. It snowed yesterday and since it stayed cold – it was 27 degrees when we took these pictures the snow and ice stayed on the trees. We stopped several times and took pictures and it was hard to decide which once was the best – that’s an awesome feeling.
