Another very hot and humid day. Decided to drive to Brandon. We have never been there and the innkeepers recommended it. We drove along Route 40. It was very scenic and there were several lakes
We missed the turn off for Route 73 but we discovered another covered bridge on alternate road
Loved all the hot air balloons
There was a nice little park in town
Not all the churches in Vermont are white
Then we headed to Weston

Then we stopped at The Vermont Country Store. We have been there numerous times and it’s usually very crowded but not today
A very warm humid day. Temperatures hit 90. Dorset Union Store is great. We love their sandwiches and cookies
It’s 6:30 pm and it’s 86 degrees in Vermont and it’s going to be hot and humid for next few days
Stopped at the Northshire Bookstore – my favorite bookstore. They have a new section Blind Date with a Book.
Staying at the Squire House again. Owners told us it was our 17th visit
Last morning at the Stone Hill Inn. This time we stayed in the Cotton Brook room

Last day in Stowe. Did two loads of wash. Went to farmers market and bought some maple caramel bourbon popcorn. Then we spent afternoon relaxing outside by the gardens. It was another beautiful day. Wish rest of our trip it would be this nice but heat wave is on its way

Chilly morning. It was 56 degrees this morning
Drove thru Smuggler’s Notch to St Albans. We have driven all over Vermont but have never been to St Albans. There was a farmers market in town and we purchased a beautiful stained glass piece of Mt Mansfield and a bottle of wine. We found a nice park right alongside Lake Champlain
Then we decided to go to Jericho It’s been several years since we were there
The Old Red Mill houses the Historical Society Museum, Snowflake Bentley Exhibit and a craft shop Snowflake Bentley was the first person to photographs single snow crystal
We stopped at the Edelweiss Mountain Deli for some great turkey sandwiches Got back to the Inn and we both tried to open the wine. Finally had to ask one of the other guests to try. He changed corkscrews and opened it.
Started the day in downtown Stowe. I have a picture of church from a distance but decided to take one from the front of church
Starbucks is now in Stowe along with 4 other coffee shops
Next up another covered bridge

Then onto the Stowe Toll Road. It cost over $51 to drive the 4.5 miles to the top of Mt Mansfield. Beautiful views of the Adirondack Mountains
There is a small ledge on back of red pole for you to place your phone so you can set a timer and take a photo of you in the background.
Then back to the Inn. It was a beautiful afternoon we sat outside. View from just outside our room
Then off to dinner at the Backyard
Had to take a picture of this place before we left Bennington. We asked our server at breakfast if she knew what it originally was. She said she didn’t know. All she knew was that it was an historic site and could not be demolished. Guess they need Chip and JoAnna
We have both decided to stop in Bellows Falls for some coffee and chai tea Stopped at a great cafe
We had stopped at Bellows Falls years ago It’s really changed. There a lot of nice shops. We picked up some glass items at a great craft shop
Next stop King Arthur’s Flour
Stopped at their cafe to get some cold water and discovered
Next stop Simon Pearce. Great display as you walk in the front door
Love all the glass trees

Made it to Stowe at 4 pm just in time to check in to Stone Hill Inn. One of our favorite bed snd breakfasts.
