There are so many beautiful flowers in bloom this time of year.  Took a walk around the neighborhood tonight and the flowers kept calling me – take my picture, no take mine.  It was hard to decide which ones I like the best so posting a variety tonight. I wish I knew the name of all the flowers.  Guess I need to buy a flower guidebook.  It’s supposed to get much warmer tomorrow – high 80’s  and stay warm for several days.  Should have known it was too good to last.  Enjoyed having the windows open and the cooler weather.

DSC_1229Relaxing day today.  Watched the Life of Pi this morning and then we headed out to the garden center to look for some trees.  We want to plant some trees in the back where there is an open space now that the dead trees were taken down last week. We found a really nice sales person at Homestead Gardens who pointed out which trees were native to Maryland.  Big trees are not cheap – $200 and if we got a big tree we would have had to pay delivery charges so we
settled on one small tree that would fit in the back of the highlander today but hope to buy at least one more.  Also bought some plants for the planters on the deck.  After supper, I headed out to the yard see what I could do for photo of the day.  Still trying to use manual setting on the camera – these flowers are just starting to bud but I am excited that they made it through the winter.

It looks like a disaster area in the front yard but the tree service cleaned up everything before they left.  Did a great job and you would not even know they had been here.  If you enlarge the picture you can see a guy in a bucket chair.  He lifts the logs into the truck.  They filled up the truck bed twice.

We had to have a number of trees taken down in our back yard.  The tree service arrived at 8:30 and were here until 5:30 or so.  Very professional.  This guy has a machine that lifts the logs and then he takes them to the front of the house where they are loaded on the truck to be carted away.  These two logs were so heavy it lifted his end of the machine off the ground.  He had to get another worker to come stand on back of the machine with him.
