Morning sky at Idlwilde Inn.  If you are ever in the Finger Lakes this is a great place to stay.  It overlooks Seneca Lake.  This was our third time there.

Stopped by the harbor,  Was surprised to see there were no boats docked.  There was no one around so I managed to get a photo without waiting

I had to have my daily fix of Chai tea so we stopped at a great coffee shop in Watkins Glen – Babes and Buds The cinnamon buns were warmed up and delicious and the chair was great.  If you are ever in the area be sure and stop by

We decided to drive around the lake since we could not check into our other Inn until 3 stopped at a park overlooking Cayuga Lake

Decided to go back to Montezuma Wildlife Refuge. Spotted lots of blue herons and even a couple of eagles. When we were there on Tuesday the rangers were stocking fish in several places. We were surprised they were still in same spot

Stopped at Taughnock Falls for a quick photo before we checked in at the Inn

Sunrise this morning from front porch of inn

Owner of B and B suggested we go to boundary breaks winery. The view of the lake was great

Then we stopped at Lakewood Winery to get some port wine for a friend. Of course we had to try the wine while we were there

Old gas pump

Then we decided to head to the Glen Curtiss Museum. If you are ever in the area it’s well worth the trip. I had never heard of him and was not aware he was in competition with the Wright Brothers and was very innovative

Time clock to punch in work at Curtis aviation I have never had to punch in. However I now have to log in using Workday on the computer

Then we decided to stop at Dr Constantine Frank Winery that overlooks Keuka Lake. since it was late afternoon we decided to do a cheese and charcuterie board. They paired the wine with the offerings. Everything was delicious

The rain finally stopped

Roger demonstrating his tennis ball cannon

Then we decided to head to Southern Vermont Art Center. One of the many sculptures throughout the grounds

Then on to the exhibit Love of Vermont. The Lyman Orton Collection. Mr Orton is the owner of the Vermont Country Store. He was kind enough to autograph his book The Collection focuses primarily on work from 1920 to 1960, and includes many of the artists who set the stage for the Southern Vermont Arts Center.

There was another exhibit of Sally Mavor’s work. it is a view of a wide array of original picture book illustrations spanning her career, including the entire series of artwork for her most recent book, MY BED: Enchanting Ways to Fall Asleep around the World. This was one of my favorites since I am a knitter.

Rainy day today. Headed to a candy store that everyone raves about

This is just part of their selection Decisions decisions. We will be back .

Didn’t realize when I took this picture that Vermont would be backwards

Then we decided to check out Lake Powell State Park. Don’t know how we have missed it in all our trips to Vermont. It was raining so we didn’t get to spend as much time there as we would have liked

Then we headed to Weston but the Vermont Country Store was packed so we decided to skip it

Marble House Project is a multi disciplinary artist residency program

Orvis is a must if you are ever in Manchester, Vermont. It’s Michael favorite store but he didn’t find anything today. I think that’s a first.

Dorset Marble Quarry opened in 1785 and is the first marble quarry in the US. it supplied marble to the New York Public Library, and several amazing mansions in NYC. Today the quarry is a much loved place for swimming

Decided to head back to Crawford Notch to see if we could get some good photos

Stopped at pond by the Wiley House first.

Then we headed to the Notch. Luckily there were not that many tourists there today so we managed to get a good parking spot and were able to take some great photos

Then we stopped by the Flume

Then we headed to North Conway to check out Zeb’s country store. Bought an ornament and another gnome.

So far this is the only moose we have seen

Then we stopped at Thorne Pond and continued to the Saco River. It was a rocky path to get to river

Headed back to B and B but had to stop for more pumpkin people this one won second prize

This one is by a winery

Once we got back to the B and B we stopped at main part of Inn and one of the owners told us that Samuel Bemis owned over 10,000 acres that included most of Crawford Notch. Current owners own his house and over 115 acres. He bought one of the first cameras in 1840 and took the first known landscape photographs

Rainy day today. Went to Echo Lake Park

Then we headed to the Kancamagus Highway and spotted this covered bridge. There were even picnic tables inside

Lots of these signs along the road but no moose sightings yet

Albany Covered Bridge.  We were walking back to the car and a lady was taking a picture

and I thought wow that’s a different angle.

Views from the bridge

View from one of the overlooks

Michael reminded me that we have a photo of these red leaves at home that we framed. It’s probably a lot sharper since it was taken with our Nikon camera. I am going to have to look for it when we get home

More pumpkin people. This display won 3rd place. It’s on the grounds of the Seasons Resort.  So they tried to cover all the seasons
