While I was out mowing the lawn this morning, I noticed a bloom on my Rose of Sharon bush. My brother in law gave me two clippings from the Rose of Sharon Bush at my childhood home several years ago. I planted them in our side yard and then did really well until late last year when they started dying. We transplanted them to another part of the yard. I wasn’t sure they were going to make it so I was delighted to see this bloom.

These flowers are right alongside the pier. It’s amazing how some days there are just lots of great photo ops and you end up with some great pictures. It’s a great feeling and gets me motivated once again

Another hot and humid day. Michael’s hip is bothering him and he wanted to rest it today so no good photo ops. This plant is out on our deck. They seem to like the heat and do well and love all the varieties and colors. It’s supposed to be cooler tomorrow – sure hope so I am really for fall.

Stopped at the library this morning to drop off some books. The flowers caught my eye. It was so hot and humid that the pictures ended up with a misty dreamy look. Could not decide which one I liked the best. It was 97 degrees this afternoon and it’s supposed to be hot all week.

We have been in this strange weather pattern for over a week. Seems like we have thunderstorms and rain every day. Sometimes twice a day like today. We managed to get the lawn mowed in between storms today. We are going to Vermont for a long weekend. Hopefully the weather will be better later in the week.
