Stopped at the Hudson River Maritime Museum. We both enjoyed it. Was disappointed to discover that we could not see the Kingston lighthouse from shore. You have to go on a boat tour but we didn’t have the time. So copied picture from the website

Then we headed to the Saugerties Lighthouse. It’s now a bed and breakfast so you can’t go inside. It’s about a half mile walk to the lighthouse

Hudson River

Stopped at Olana. Home of Hudson Valley artist Frederick Church. They have a beautiful new visitor center

Drove through Hudson and discovered a park with a great view of the Hudson Athens Lighthouse. It’s currently undergoing renovations

Then we drove to Catskill and to the Point. It’s really changed over the years. Managed to get a photo of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge

Had dinner at Christina’s restaurant and it was great. Michael had spaghetti and meatballs and I had chicken parmigan sandwich. delicious. They also had fried bread dough balls in bread basket.
Our last full day in Vermont. Decided to go to Hildene – home of Robert Todd Lincoln

We always stay at the Squire House in Dorset. The owners Roger and Gay are awesome. This was our 17th time

Temperatures were only in the 70s today. Went to the Dorset Theater and saw the play Salvage. It was a funny and heartwarming new play.
Really enjoyed it they have a play in July called the Book Club Play. Would like to see that but Vermont is a 7 hour drive

Another warm day but not as hot as it has been. Did a short walk around the grounds of the Inn

Went to Union Underground for dinner. Great burgers. We never noticed this place before even though it’s been there for ten years. Then we walked to see the new bridge on the river walk. They are still working on it so you can’t walk across

Another hot humid day decided to drive to Weston. Stopped at Vermont Country Store. They used to have all kinds of food to sample but no more.

The gazebo on the town green is ready for July 4th

Summer has arrived. Too hot to do much today. We did a few errands and then spent rest of day in air conditioned Inn
