What a day! Heard a crash at 4:30 this morning – came downstairs to find our tree had fallen over. Have no idea why. So we picked the tree up, put it back in the stand and then started the clean up. Luckily we only lost about a dozen ornaments. But what a mess – had to get the vacuum cleaner out to clean up the broken piece and then towels to clean up the spilled water. By the time we got done it was about 6 o’clock so got ready for work. When I got to work and was telling my co-workers about the tree falling down, I discovered that three yes three other people had their trees fall down as well. What is going on??? It’s was very foggy today and rained on an off all day. Where is the snow??? Not many photo ops so I had to resort to taking pictures of the tree – guess I should have taken a picture of the tree on its side this morning.

The tree is up and decorated and it’s beautiful. It’s about 7 feet tall and big and bushy – just the way I like it. This is a close up view of one section of the tree – picked this section because of the Peace ornament. The ornaments all have special meaning – some we picked up on vacation, some from when we lived overseas. some were gifts. There is even one ornament that came from Michael’s grandfather

Went to an afternoon matinee of the Moscow Ballet performance of The Nutcracker. This was the third time we have seen it but this performance was amazing. It was the first time we have been to the Hippodrome Theater. It was built in 1914 and rebuilt in 2004. This is some of the amazing architecture.

Went out to dinner with some friends tonight. We decided to eat in Annapolis and then go to Midnight Madness. It was the first time I have been to downtown Annapolis during the holiday season. Had a great time. The stores and restaurants were all decorated and stayed. There were several different musicians around town. Some of the boats in ego alley were even decorated with lights. Took lots of pictures and it was hard to decide on just one.

What a foggy day. I could not even see the Inner Harbor from our office until late this afternoon. Stopped at the library on my way home for a new stash of books and was surprised to see these big colorful leaves in the gardens so of course I had to stop and take some pictures.
