Another beautiful day in Stowe.  We decided to head to Moss Glen Falls since we haven’t been there in years.  We forgot the tick spray, but a nice group of girls let us use some of theirs.  We also forgot how uneven and steep the trail was – thank goodness we had our hiking books on but should have brought our hiking sticks with us.  The trail was filled with rocks near the top

After we left the waterfalls, we decided to continue down the road.  I spotted this old cabin.  The owner was out mowing the lawn and I asked if I could take some photos.  She said sure as long as I didn’t go inside the house.  Then she said – doesn’t the lawn look great.  I thanked her and walked all around the house taking photos.  I should have asked her if she knew any history about the old cabin.

When we left Maryland it was raining and damp, then we hit construction on the New York State Thruway so it took ten long hours to get to Stowe.  When we got to Stowe, the sun was shining and it was 70 degrees.  My kind of weather.   I checked the weather in Stevensville and discovered that it was warmer in Vermont.  So it was a great night to sit outside and have dinner.  After dinner we checked the gardens at the Stone Hill Inn and it is just as beautiful as we remembered.

There really are moose in Vermont!   We have been coming to Vermont for years.  There are lots of signs for Moose Crossing but we had never seen a moose until today.  This one was walking right down the middle of Route 7 – about 5 miles from Dorset.  We slowed up and then stopped alongside the road and the moose walked right past us and we were lucky enough to get a good shot.
