We went to Downs Park today.  We noticed a deer on our left and tried to get a couple of photos but we were not close enough so we decided to walk on – we had only taken a few steps when we noticed a deer on our right and this one was much closer.  Managed to get a couple of good photos.  The deer seem to have gotten used to people over the years and didn’t run away.

After we finished hiking we headed to Manchester.  First stop of course was the Northshire Bookstore – my favorite bookstore.  You could spend hours in there.  I picked up a couple of books – could have gotten a lot more but had to control myself.  If you love books and are ever in Manchester – this is a must.  Then we headed to Michael’s favorite store Orvis.  We decided to walk from one Orvis store to another and was glad we did.  This is a pond between the two Orvis stores.  Love the reflections.

If you look in the foreground you will notice a couple of circles that look like hula hoops.  Orvis has fly fishing classes and they use these hoops for teaching casting.

First day of summer but it’s been overcast and in the low 70’s.  We weren’t sure if it was going to rain or not so stayed close to home.  Walked to the marina – lots of bees and this one lonely butterfly.  Could not decide which photo we liked the best.  Thanks to everyone who told me yesterday’s flower was a hydrangea.

Beautiful day today.  Blue skies and temperatures in the low 70s  Michael surprised me and we went to Old Town Alexandria and took a boat trip on the Potomac.  It lasted about two hours.  Really enjoyed seeing the monuments from a different view point.  On the way back to an early dinner we passed this street musician.  Could not believe the music that came from water in these glasses.
